Our Services

Preventive Care

At Gehrman Animal Hospital, we take a comprehensive approach to wellness care. Most people are familiar with annual or bi-annual vaccines (or "shots").  These are important, but they are only a portion of keeping your pet healthy.  The annual physical exam helps detect any problems or concerns "from the outside."  Like our own medical care, annual blood work allows the veterinarian to do an "internal" check of organ function.  We can catch disease processes in their early stages when they are most treatable - and potentially less expensive!  This is what preventive care means and our philosophy is that it is the best practice for your pet's health.

Dentistry

Dental disease is a leading health issue of dogs and cats.  Left untreated, dental disease can impact your pet's immune system, reducing her ability to fight off infection. It can also cause mouth pain, loss of teeth, as well as heart and kidney disease.

All pets benefit from a professional teeth cleaning and many dogs and cats will need their teeth cleaned annually. Dental procedures are scheduled like a surgery appointment. General anesthesia is required for the procedure in accordance with AAHA guidelines to do a comprehensive cleaning. Anesthesia allows a thorough cleaning under the gums where 60% of the tartar and plaque are located, as well as providing some pain relief during the procedure.

Diagnostics

An important part of diagnosing specific disease conditions or injuries involves the use of cutting-edge technologies by our Doctors and Certified Veterinary Technicians.  When immediate results are needed, Gehrman Animal Hospital has a comprehensive in-house laboratory, plus state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to serve our patients well!

  • Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, and Echocardiogram (echo)
  • Laboratory Services
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Blood Pressure

Until one has loved an animal, a part of
