pet training

We do not offer training classes at this time.

Puppy training It's not too early to think about puppy training. The critical period for a puppy to respond well to socialization is from 8 weeks to 20 weeks of age. Your puppy needs exposure to a variety of other people: men, women, and children as well as other puppies and adult dogs. Don't forget car rides and leash training too. The more a puppy is exposed to the conditions that will be a part of his world at this formative stage, the better pet he will be. A well-socialized puppy is a happy puppy with a happy owner.

Puppy training Free puppy socialization on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in the lower level training room at Gehrman Animal Hospital. Enter from the lower parking lot. No advanced registration required, but call ahead or check our homepage to confirm that the class is being held.

Socialization is supervised by Katie, a Certified Veterinary Technician, and Sheridan, an Exam Assistant. Playtime is open to all healthy puppies under 5 months of age. We would love to see you there!

And check out our brand new tiny puppy play area! Interaction between puppies of ALL sizes is not only recommended, but imperative in the training and development of a well behaved dog. However, we now provide a tiny puppy play area for the puppies that need a calm area in which to warm up.   Call for more information.
